6H30P-DR Supertube

One of our customers wrote the following after upgrading the tubes from the Sovtek 6H30p-EB tube to the 6H30p-DR tube in his Audio Research LS25 MkII. "The DRs produce a dramatic, palpable three-dimensional sonic picture with superior sense of scale. The bass is slightly drier and better defined, and the overall system has better musical grip and ability to tightly control Revels' woofers. In short, DR tubes make ARC to sound more substantial, colorful, and dramatic, more musically involving."

Another customer comment: "I installed the tubes last night and I must tell you that I am simply stunned and amazed at the extreme difference that these tubes make over the SOVTEK 6H30PI-EBs. I listened to a number of my go-to CDs to be able hear the difference and it is significant. For the small cost of these tubes it is like changing/upgrading to a new speaker costing thousands of dollars more money. More natural sound, base is tighter and deeper, sound stage is more defined, violin, trumpets, piano sound more like the real thing. The separation of instruments on the stage, and the amount of decay on notes is improved. Previously, some CDs were a little too edgy/bright but this is no longer the case."

This rare NOS 6H30p-DR Supertube includes gold grids and is the absolute top grade of the 6H30 tube type. To be certified a DR grade this tube had to pass lengthy and rigorous testing meaning it is much better than the 6H30P-EB or EV versions. Its original use was in critical space and military applications within the Soviet Union. This tube was made by Reflektor throughout the '80's up to 1992. This is the same 6H30 Supertube offered by Balanced Audio Technology as their premium replacement.

The 6H30 tube type is generally not compatible with 6922 and ECC88 tube types. The 6H30P-DR tube is also known as 6H30P-DP and 6N30P-DR.
