Western Electric 300B

This is the 300B tube against which all other 300B's are compared. Stereophile magazine placed this tube at the top of the 300B category, and this new production version is much easier to obtain than a vintage pair of bottles. Every triode is individually numbered, with its own test results included as well. Each sealed tube box has a serial number sticker and a velvet lining where they can "lie in state" while awaiting the call to take center stage in your amplifier.

Update: Despite being told new production Western Electric 300B tubes would be shipped in May 2009, there has not been any tubes produced. It seems the factory has been closed and moved yet again. It is very difficult to contact Western Electric so we do not know when to expect more 300B tubes. If we do, the website will be updated immediately.
